London-born John Rhodes came to Girl Friday having recently published a historical novel through a self-publishing service. He was chagrined his book had reached few readers and achieved minimal sales. For Rhodes, the lack of discovery was particularly frustrating because he planned a series of novels that would track his World War II protagonists through the era.
